I Am Learning to Draw Sunflowers

We planted sunflower seeds. They are beginning to grow. We drew a sunflower to show what we hope will grow on our plants.

I Am Learning About Punctuation

Today we read the story 'Billy and the Basketball'. The we had to put the sentence in the right order and put in the right punctuation.

"I can put in the capital letters, the full stops and the speech marks. The commas and apostrophes are more tricky."

The Walking School Bus

Today at assembly I got a prize for writing a cool story about the Walking School Bus. I got a bag of goodies.

Blob Bugs

We used paint to paint three blobs, then we squashed our paper in half. When it was dry we added legs, wings, antennae and eyes.

I Can Add More detail to My Writing

We are learning to add more detail to our writing. We write when it happened.

" I wrote 'today' in my story because that's when it happened".

I Am Learning to Tell The Time

We have made clocks at school. We are learning to tell o'clock and half past times using our clocks. It is fun.

"My clock says 3 o'clock. It is easy to tell o'clocks, next I will learn half past times".

Art Exhibition - Paint My World

We used primary colours to paint our paper. We mixed the colours to get the new colours. We then drew our koru patterns and cut them out. We  arranged them on black paper to make the colours show out.  Come and see our Art Work this week 25^th  – 27^th August, the exhibition is open from 8:30am until 5:30pm.

I Am Learning to About Words that Rhyme

Today we read the story 'Time For School' on Sunshine Online. After we had read the story we had to match words that rhymed.

" I was learning about rhyming. I like Sunshine Online better than PM readers."

I Am Learning About Describing Words

We have been learning to make our stories more interesting by using describing words. We wrote a sentence using describing words and then we used Kidpix to publish it.

"My describing words are blue, pink, purple and crimson. It was fun to draw on the computer."
